A STATE FALSE CLAIMS ACT WAS NOT approved by the legislature. SB 440, amended and passed by the Senate to adopt a false claims act, died on the House calendar. CCIA members actively responded to an urgent call to action to contact their legislators in the final days of the session to help defeat the measure. CCIA appreciates the efforts of all members who participated in this successful grass roots effort to oppose this legislation.

CCIA members attended attended CTDOT’s press conference in Farmington highlighting National Work Zone Awareness Week, which honors the workers and professionals who help keep construction zones safe. CCIA President Don Shubert, was a one of the speakers, who urged motorists to take an active role in protecting roadway workers and drivers. -
