URGENT – CALL LEGISLATORS NOW!

 

BILL NO. 5205 - AN ACT CONCERNING RECOVERY OF MISAPPROPRIATED STATE FUNDS

Is a STATE FALSE CLAIMS ACT that can easily be abused by the Attorney General’s Office to threaten anyone doing business with the state to force them to relinquish legitimate claims for payment.

 

CALL THE MEMBERS OF THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE TODAY and TELL THEM:

    If this False Claims Act is enacted in Connecticut
  • reputable businesses with a history of providing quality work and products for the public benefit will be forced out of business;
  • hard working people will lose their jobs
  • public procurement will cost more because:
    • there will be a lack of competition due to fewer bidders bidding on public work; and
    • bidders will incorporate contingencies in bids to compensate for the losses expected under the pressure of meritless False Claims actions.
