THE 2007 AGC/CT CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY RECOGNITION Award winners were announced last night at the AquaTurf in Plantsville with close to 400 in attendance.
The 2007 winners are: Private Owner of the Year - Daniel Matos, The Matos Group; Public Owner of the Year ? David O?Hearn, CT Department of Public Works; GC/CM of the Year ? David Yoder, Industrial Construction, Co.; Subcontractor of the Year ? Len Suzio, The L. Suzio Construction Co., Inc.; Architect/Designer of the Year ? David Foster, Tecton Architects, pc; Supplier/Service Provider of the Year ? Louis R. Pepe, Pepe & Hazard, LLP; and Construction Supervisor of the Year ? Bill Noll, O & G Industries, Inc.
Individual award recipients were selected from an impressive list of nominated finalists based on the following criteria:
A high level of leadership, a willingness to learn, a desire to excel, an understanding of construction principles and theory, the experience, discipline and focus to bring thoughtfulness and skill together successfully in various types of construction projects, and an adherence to fair and responsible business projects.
AGC/CT represents commercial, industrial, and institutional construction contractors, subcontractors, specialty contractors, material suppliers, and professionals serving the building construction industry.

CCIA members attended attended CTDOT’s press conference in Farmington highlighting National Work Zone Awareness Week, which honors the workers and professionals who help keep construction zones safe. CCIA President Don Shubert, was a one of the speakers, who urged motorists to take an active role in protecting roadway workers and drivers.
