Construction NewsBRIEFS! 5-24-2012

Preparation is the key to an effective workplace incident investigation, according to Pre-planning for incident investigations, from Safety+Health magazine, April, 2012, National Safety Council. Preparations for incident investigations before an incident occurs in the workplace should include: developing a written plan, assembling an investigation kit, organizing a team, and training employees.

The economic benefits of constructing, operating and maintaining the midstream infrastructure needed to transport domestic energy, such as jobs, labor income, value added, economic output and federal, state and local tax generation, are highlighted in a recent study. “Jobs & Economic Benefits of Midstream Infrastructure Development: US Economic Impacts Through 2035” indicates that natural gas midstream investment and the investment to operate and maintain the pipelines will support an average of over 103,000 jobs each year from 2012 through 2035, generate nearly $47 billion in federal, state and local tax revenue, and add more than $420 billion in total economic output.
